Dr. Patta Radhakrishna is a Senior Surgical Gastroenterologist and Laparoscopic surgeon, presently the Head – Director, Department of Surgical Gastroenterology and Laparascopic Surgery, SIMS (SRM Institutes for Medical Science), Vadapalani, Chennai.

Dr. Radhakrishna completed his MBBS from JIPMER, Pondicherry, followed by MS (General Surgery) and his initial surgical training from Stanley Medical Centre Chennai. He obtained his Super-Specialty MCh degree in Surgical Gastroenterology under the chairmanship of Prof. N. Rangabashyam a pioneer Surgical Gastroenterologist from Madras Medical College, Chennai.

During his tenure at Department of Surgical Gastroenterology and Proctology in Madras Medical College, he got the opportunity to take care of the patients with complex GI surgical problems.

He worked in AIIMS in the department of Gastroenterology and Liver Transplant under Prof. Samiran Nundy for four years. He also worked as GI Surgery Consultant in Tirupati, Hyderabad, Chennai, Srilanka and Bangladesh.

Professional Achievements:

• First graduate of MCh in Gastroenterology from MMC (Madras Medical College).
• Involved in the first ever liver transplant surgery at AIIMS in 1995
• Laparoscopic surgery training under Dr. Pradeep Choubey of Ganga Ram Hospital
• Fellowship in Robotic Surgery from the World Laparoscopy Hospital
• Established Surgical GE departments in SVIMS, Tirupati, NIMS, Hyderabad & Z.H. Sikder Hospitals, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
