Dr. Sanjiv K.S. Marya is the Chairman and the Chief Surgeon in Orthopaedics & Institute of Joint Replacement Surgery, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi. He has been in the field of Medicine and Orthopaedic surgery for almost 30 years.
He has performed more than 12,000 joint replacements of Knees, Hips, Shoulders, Toes and Finger joints. He is pioneered in bilateral joint replacement of knee and hip joints. He has also initiated the unicompartmental (Half knee) replacement and done exclusive work in fractures in joint replacement.
He is currently the President Elect of Arthroplasty Society in Asia, Chairman of Knee Arthroplasty SICOT (International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology), President of India and SAARC: International Congress of Joint Reconstruction, Permanent Board Member of Asia Pacific Arthroplasty Society and Vice President of OASAC (Orthopaedic Association of SAARC Countries).
He has completed his graduation in 1981 and his post graduations MS Ortho, DNB Ortho and MCh Ortho in 1991. He has also a fellow of FRCS and FICS. He has published 8 books and 82 scientific papers in International and National Journals. He has been a member in the Editorial Board of various journals. He is the Director of PFC Sigma Total Knee Replacement Fellowship Programme, World Orthopaedic Concern Joint Replacement Fellowship and J&J International Joint Replacement Fellowship Programme. He has performed more than 10 Orations and has demonstrated live on TV circuit Knee, Hip and Unicompartmental knee replacement on numerous occasions to hundreds of surgeons as a teaching aid in many National and International conferences and workshops.
His Special Interests are in the areas of Joint Replacement Surgery (Primary and Revision) of Upper Limb Joints and Lower Limb Joints.
