B.V. Adkoli is working as Professor of Health professional Education at the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute at Puducherry.

Earlier, he has worked as faculty for the National Teacher Training Centre (NTTC), JIPMER, and Educationist /consultant at the KL Wig Centre for Medical Education and Technology (CMET), at AIIMS, New Delhi (1991-2013). He held short assignments as Faculty of Medical Education Unit at the University of Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Content Manager for the National Health Portal, a project under Health Ministry. He has also served as a guest faculty for the FAIMER Regional Institute, CMC Ludhiana.

He is an accredited Educator for the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor's course of the American College of Surgeons run by the JPN Advanced Trauma Centre, AIIMS; Member, National Curriculum Review Committee (NCRC) for the National Initiative for Allied Health Sciences (NIAHS) launched by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

His main area of interest is faculty development and training in health professions education.
